About Kybella
Kybella is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the treatment area under the chin to improve your profile. It is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat) and other areas of the body.
What it is
When injected into the fat below the chin or other areas of the body, it destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.
How it Works
Kybella treatments can be done in as little as 15-20 minutes. Side effects are pain, swelling, and bruising where it was injected. All patients are different, but in general, you should start seeing great results after just one treatment 4-6 weeks post injection. Some patients need one or two additional treatments if they have thicker submental fat tissue.

-Please arrive with clean skin so that we can properly assess your skin and determine where to make injections
-With permission from your prescribing physician stop taking blood thinners/daily aspirin
-Avoid NSAIDS (ie: ibuprofen), and/or Aleve for 1 week prior
-Avoid taking St. John’s Wort and Vitamin E for 1 week prior
-Avoid Retin-A, Tretinoin and Retinoids for 3 days prior
-Do not drink any alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior
-Start Arnica tablets the day before treatment
-No dental appointments 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks following the injectable appointment

BLT topical cream, a common anesthetic, helps patients tolerate the minor pinching feeling associated with injections and will be applied pre-procedure. You will be given an ice pack after treatment to help reduce the swelling.

Immediately after the treatment, there may be redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness and / or itching at or near the injection site. These symptoms are normal and should resolve within a few days with lingering side effects up to 2 weeks. For this reason, we do not recommend scheduling your appointment right before a big event.

Results can be seen 4-6 weeks post treatment. Once the fat cells are gone, they are gone for good after completion of the fully recommended dosage and treatment series.
